IS350 Timing chain issues
I'm just curious why the engine would need all this at that mileage? Did the dealer explain why?
I suppose your options are if it has been diagnosed properly, drive it as is, sell it, find a low mileage engine at a wrecker and put it in, or fix yours. Although the selling option is sweaty...I got to live with myself and it would be hard fn someone over like that. I know, nice guys finish last.....story of my life.

Those codes are for OC Valves. Looks like on bank 2. Why didn't the deal check if it was malfunctioning? That's the stealer ship for you.
My boss had a quote from Lexus that he needed a new steering rack, because it was leaking oil. On a 2004 ES330
when he got into the office he asked me for help to check it. I went to look at it steering rack was bone dry. All it had was a little grease sneaking out of the inner tie rod boots. Nothing alarming. I did notice his high pressure hose was leaking, and a broken motor mount. In total it was about $9000 total to repair other stuff, and routing maintenance.
Moral of the story get a second opinion.

The stealership is right. They said the same thing initially about my OC valve in bank 2 so I replaced it. Nothing changed sadly, they even argued with me saying it wasn't an OEM part until I showed them the receipt from the dealership I got it from. I was really hoping it was the OC valve like the trouble code mentions. I'm pretty much at my last wit now, I've put about 700$ into it between diagnosis costs and parts that I've replaced that have made no difference. The thing is, I took it to a certified Lexus mechanic before I took it to the dealership and they initially told me all that stuff about the timing chain replacement. That's what made me take it to the dealership; for a 2nd opinion. I really wish my first experience with Lexus wasn't such a bad one, meanwhile people on this forum are driving their IS' into the 200k's I'm stuck below 100k

I just realized you had another thread on this same issue awhile back.
So the filter location is in this spot on both sides right?

Anyone else see that the recommended repair for the "Camshaft Gear Assembly and All Timing Chains and Tensioners" was paritally covered by the VVT cam gear recall? I assume the "Camshaft Gear Assembly" are the actual VVT cam gears here.
Anyone confirm that?
