I have an '06 IS350 and the headlights and other exterior lights don't shut off even after pressing the lock button the fob twice. But with a caveat: lights WILL shut off after the engine has been killed AND the stalk was already in AUTO or any non-off position prior. BUT after I kill the engine, and turn the stalk to OFF and then back to a non-OFF position, the lights stay on.


Scenario 1:
1.) Pull into my low lighted garage.
2.) Engine on, headlight stalk has been on AUTO.
3.) Kill engine. Stalk still in AUTO
4.) Get out of car. All doors and trunk are closed.
5.) Press lock button twice. All lights TURN OFF



Scenario 2:
1.) Pull into my low lighted garage.
2.) Engine on, headlight stalk has been on AUTO.
3.) Kill engine.
4.) Turn stalk to OFF.
5.) Turn stalk to AUTO.
6.) Lights stay on for some reason
7.) Get out of car. All doors and trunk are closed.
8.) Press lock button twice. All lights REMAIN ON
9.) Continue pressing lock button. All lights STILL REMAIN ON.
10.) Go back into car, and turn stalk to OFF position. All lights turn off.


I've tried Scenario 2 on my '04 RX330 and my gf's '14 IS250, and the lights turn off after step 5. Anyone have the same issue as scenario 2?

I've owned the car for a little over a year now, and this just started happening a week ago. Yes, I've checked the door jamb light switches. They all work fine.

 

Do you have anything covering up the light sensors.

 

I don't. During the day when it's parked outside, I have a sunshade on the windshield.
