P0113 - Starts but won’t Fire!
so I’ve had my IS350 for quite some time and always been my trusty daily. I’m quite mechanically inclined and can’t seem to figure this out:
1. Drove car to work (5 miles) no issues
2. Tried to fire up car after work, would turn over, but would not start.
3. Pulled codes and it’s coming up with P0113 and check VSC light is coming on. Reset code and came right back on
4. Unplugged MAF and tried to fire, no dice
Any ideas? I checked all wiring and no apparent issues. I’m stumped!

This is a critical input and although once started it may be able to run in limp mode, you have an high input from the MAFs temp sensor.
It could be as simple as the sensor failed or an open data line between the MAF and the ECU. The code implies the return input is +5v. Which also implies you could have a short to 5v supply. I would do a search and find the ohm values for your current ambient temperature and then proceed to test sensor. If it tests good, now test the cars wiring. Any trace of rodents under the hood?
Keep in mind we people are conductive so do not touch leads while making measurements.
And ya, no clue what the ohm values are or I'd share.

Update:
-Cleaned MAF and battery, still wouldn’t start
-Tried looking for fuel pressure sensor connector, but wasn’t sure if I had the right connector. Unplugged two connectors, one at a time, under the middle of the intake manifold. Tried starting, didn’t work.
Anyone have pics of the sensor or know where it is? Do I have to take off the manifold? I can tomorrow, but might be a PITA removing/installing just to test!

UPDATE:
Took off the intake manifold. No obvious issues, will put it back on tonight. Appears I was unplugging the right sensor to test the fuel pressure sensor, no dice.
I did notice some very small separation in the seems of of the intake manifold, I can’t imagine that would not allow the car to start

Well, figured it out. It was the fuel pump, but now I’m getting a misfire, P0302, looks like cylinder 2.
i drive it for a bit and it seems to clear up in higher ROMs, which is quite odd. Any ideas?
