New recall alert [fuel delivery pipe] from my insurance company for my IS350?
Today I got an email from my car insurance company notifying me that there's a new recall on my car dated June 26, 2018. It sounds like something I already had done several years ago though. I was wondering if this is an actual new recall to fix something done by a prior recall, or for some reason my insurer is just notifying me of old ones.. Here's the text of the message they sent me:
NHTSA #Pending
Recall #J2F SAFETY RECALL JLF (INTERIM J2F) -
INTERIM NOTICE CERTAIN 2007 - 2011 MODEL YEAR GS
VEHICLES AND CERTAIN 2006 - 2014 IS VEHICLES FUEL
DELIVERY PIPE
Status: Remedy Not Available
Locate an authorized Lexus dealer near you to schedule an appointment
LEARN MORE
Description:
The involved vehicles are equipped with a certain 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine. The diaphragm material in the fuel pulsation dampers in this engine may harden over time and crack, causing fuel to leak.
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a vehicle fire.
Remedy:
Lexus is currently preparing the remedy for this condition. When the remedy becomes available, Lexus will send an owner notification by first class mail advising owners to make an appointment with their authorized Lexus dealer to have the Fuel Delivery Pipe replaced with a new one at NO CHARGE.

Found an article on the Associated Press website dated 6/26/18. https://apnews.com/8ca34c83d31942c58fdd2dc84a00f07e
I remember a previous recall on the fuel pipe, but not one having to do with fuel pulsation dampers. I guess I'll find out if I'm affected when/if I get the recall notice.

This recall is only for the 350. There is a similar recall for the 250 that was in 2016.
Go to this website - http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr...callsearch.cfm
click on the "SEARCH FOR RECALLS BY VIN" button and enter your VIN.
It will only list recalls that HAVE NOT been done to the car. If everything has been done, it will say "NO RECALLS".
If you want to see all the recalls ever issued for your car, below the "SEARCH FOR RECALLS BY VIN" button, click on the word VEHICLES and then enter in year, make and model of your car - example - 2010 Lexus IS250

Fuel leak?
Do you drive an older Lexus IS or GS? If so, you might want to watch out, because there could be a fuel leak in the engine bay. Fortunately Lexus is addressing the issue in this latest recall campaign.
The problem comes down to the fuel pulsation dampers in the engine, which could harden and crack over time. If that happens, they could result in fuel leaking out – and in a hot engine bay, this could easily cause a fire.
To fix the affected vehicles, Lexus won’t just replace those fuel pulsation dampers but will install entirely new fuel delivery pipes that include improved dampers, which hopefully will last longer.
The issue involves certain models fitted with the 3.5-liter V6 engine. Specifically, the 2006-13 IS 350, 2010-14 IS 350C, and 2007-11 GS 350 and GS 450h. All told, that comes to 115,000 vehicles in the US, which coincidentally is about the number of passenger cars (excluding the more popular crossovers and SUVs) Lexus sells here each year.
