Once the car is turned off, my car's front and back lights stay on for a few seconds before both turning off - or if I lock using my remote then all my lights turn off immediately.

As you might be able to tell, I am not the most autoparts savvy person so I really appreciate the help!
The autozone link you posted is correct. It would be considered aftermarket. I assume denso should be OEM. As to why it would disable the cruise control using after market. Is beyond me maybe on that part. A wild assumption would be if it's not it the correct possition. The plunger would activate the brakes when cruise control is engaged.
The lights staying on after shut down is normal. My question was that if just the tail lights stay on by themselves. That's a clear sign of a failing stop switch. They would just stay on while the car it shut off.

In that case no, the lights work perfectly fine, turns on and off at the correct times! So, would you recommend that I buy the part and just replace it myself? Is there a chance that the dash still will not clear? Thanks!
It's up to you if you feel confident to change it. Just try to get a measurement of the plunger position before you remove it. Of how far it sticks out of it's housing. Then once installing the new one try to set it at that same distance.
Probably on YouTube you can find many tutorials. Honda's are notorious for this failure brake swich always going bad.

Hm...I've done some work on my cars using YouTube videos before, but usually easy stuff like changing lights or installing a new battery.
I should probably going to a professional for this in case I manage to somehow blow up my car lol
