Default 2GR-FSE expert comment wanted! Knocking??!

Hi experts and Lexus 3.5 connoisseurs. I recently purchased a 2011 is 350 AWD with 97000 miles .I'm loving the car but have a slight concern about the engine noise when cold. I hear some knocking and tapping when the engine is cold (link embedded) and am wondering if it seems normal. I've read that the dual injection system injectors can be loud but am not sure if this is it. Would love some comments and input on this matter .
Thank you all .

All sounds normal to me. Maybe some with a more quality audio system connected to their PC might hear more lower-end than my headset at work? LOL!

Sounds like the cam gear to me. Did you take it in for the recall? If not, schedule an appointment with your Lexus dealer.

Service: REPLACE CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR ON IS
Description: REPLACE CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR ON IS ~ ~SSC DLG VALVE TIMING GEAR REPLACEMENT ~ ~SSC DLG

The cam gear was done at 43000 miles (now at 96000) . If that is the issue would it mainly make noise when the engine is cold or always? It definitely gets better and basically dissapears when the engine is warm after a few minutes . I'm thinking the dealer might have put bad and cheap oil in there during the last oil change. Is it something that can cause damage? Thanks all

Yes cold only. Unless it's really bad. Mine does it a few times a day.

most likely the TSB for the cam gear on most cars has expired if you have high mileage. you can always double check with your dealer but just be aware the TSB has a cutoff/expiration.

The cam gear rattle is heard at the 10 second mark on the first clip, and only lasts for about a second.
