Default 17.6 mpg?

im a new Lexus owner, and im new to the forum. ive made several post so far, the things just keep adding up. I forgot to add this to an earlier post i made. 17.6 is what my gauge is giving me after 300 miles. this is bad, right? does the gauge malfunction?

For a 2006 IS250, that's about right for city driving and being a little more aggressive than granny.

You'll probably do better when the weather gets warmer. The combination of cold temps and short trips really wreaks havoc on mileage. I'm getting about 24 - 25 MPG on my 2006 IS350 now thanks to a 45 - 50 minute commute (each way) to/from work.

350 average with 60/40 city/hwy is 21 to 22mpg...
As the temps drop its lost about 1.25mpg from above.

It takes forever to warm up too. You'd think there's 7.5 liters of cast iron under the hood.

You might replace your plugs, air filter, and clean the MAF. Oil change may not be a bad idea either! And check the tire pressure. Running 40psi up front to attempt saving the tires edge.
