Hi, I have had my IS250 for about 6 months now and not had any issues so far. The car is a family car, but I tend to rev the engine WOT to redline every now and then as its the only way to get some performance out of it. Lately I have heard a VERY odd noise coming in at about 5-6000RPM (just when the yellow rev light comes on or so), and I cant really describe it - I used to have some tuned Datsuns in the past and they made that noise when they had valvefloat at very high RPM - Its almost as if the exhaust has a temporary leak, it just comes, sounds like crap and then goes just as fast.

Sorry for the terrible description. Its hard to catch on camera as its not always present. Only WOT, 5000 + RPM, not everytime and perhaps by chance only when its raining. Any ideas would be great

Perhaps a damaged valve spring? I know with the IS350s, there was a recall on the springs, and I've read of 350s and one 250 having a valve spring break.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to search for this, and could only find recalls for the 350 on this. It also looked like the main symptoms was poor idle. Does anyone know if this recall goes for the 250 as well?
