Aftermarket exhaust question.
I’m looking at the different exhaust options available for my IS350.
When you go with an aftermarket intermediate pipe that eliminates the rear cats, will the check engine light come on/stay on? I’m thinking it will, but was wondering what people with aftermarket int. pipes have experienced. Here is the exhaust I’m considering. In YouTube videos, it sounds good to me. Thanks

For that price, I'd be very concerned about the quality. As far as the CEL, if the Secondary o2 sensors are removed with care and with the proper tool and reinstalled in the new exhaust and are not damaged, you will not have a CEL. However, many folks find that, no matter how gently they are handled, some sensors break while being R&Rd. If one or both are damaged, you will get a CEL.

As far as the CEL, that’s what I was hoping. Thanks.
OP: While the pictures and everything look really nice, that is very cheap for a full catback exhaust. I would look around for reviews for purchasing. If it helps, the Tsudo axleback that I, and many other member, have is a budget exhaust with a great sound and looks good too. Might want to check that out before spending your hard earned money.
To slightly divert this thread, does anyone know what diameter the resonators are? I am looking to replace mine with some Magnaflow or Aero resonators and figure I should know what diameter to purchase. I have seen the questions posed in a bunch of threads but never answered. Thank!

Thanks for all the replies.
I was also considering going with an axle-back and installing the Aero resonators that you have.

For CA, technically no cat-back set-up for the 2IS (whether aftermarket mid-pipes w/ an axle-back or a true cat-back set-up) should pass the visual inspection, even if it passes the actual emissions testing component. reason being, there isn't a cat-back set-up that does NOT eliminate the secondary catalytic converters. As such, by virtue of eliminating them with an aftermarket cat-back set-up, a 2IS w/ an aftermarket cat-back set-up won't/shouldn't pass visual inspection.
But, if you go to a smog check facility that isn't a stickler for the visual inspection part, they'll probably point to the nice and shiny chrome exhaust pipes under the car, say something along the line of "this shouldn't pass visual blah blah blah but you're good to go blah blah blah...", and pass you anyways.
This is based on first-hand experience, but YMMV.
