Default My is250 headlight identification

Hello everyone,I recently purchased a second hand 2006 is250 automatic. Its a japanese import . Im having trouble identifying which headlights came stock with my IS. My satellite option shows AFS but its fixed in OFF position and i cant change that. Some technician told me by looking at the headlights that the previous owner possibly had aftermarket headlights installed. It does have HIDs currently but im not sure which bulb ballast is being used if it is infact after market. The car itself is a basic version without heated seats and the satellite options are limited to AFS, Rev limiter, Speed limiter. Is there any way to know what setup came stock with my version of the car? Whether it was halogen or hid, and if it had afs and auto leveling? I would love to get back to stock headlights as the current headlights are useless. The hids are projecting lights everywhere else except the road. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how far HID's and AFS go back in the IS history, but I do know it was always an option. Looking at the badge in the pic, I see no options. You say it has no heated seats so it's not a luxury package which included HID's. Therefore, I'd say it never had HID's which AFS required. That is, unless someone can correct me.

Post up some pics of your headlights. If you can see the ballast. Pretty much means they are not AFS. Either halogen stock, or aftermarket. AFS headlights have sensors on the front and back driver side suspension. Sway bar front most easiest to spot.

Correction. The AFS option on satellite is always on. I cant turn it off or anything. Btw the current setup is HID but im trying to find out the stock setup because i want to buy new pair of headlights and they ask if the existing setup is halogen or hid with afs and auto level. Is auto level a seperate function or came with HID and afs?

Also can the low beam projection be adjusted or aligned? Both my lights seem to be projecting more on the opposite side than the middle of the road. I can see the curbs better than the road..lol

When you say, "the satellite options are limited to AFS, Rev limiter, Speed limiter", where exactly are you seeing this? I don't have this on my Nav unit nor on the dash control to the left of the steering, but I do have AFS.

Did you check the fuse box to see if you have a fuse in the AFS slot? Do you notice the headlight moving right or left when turning the steering wheel when you are driving in a semi dark road?

I ran your VIN. Your car came with AFS/HID headlights.

BTW, if you want to replace your headlight with aftermarket set. It will work fine event you have HID. The only function you will lost is AFS function. Hope it help!!!
All aftermarket will stated only work for non HID headlight due to this issue
