Default Hood Release

Had my dash replacement done a few weeks ago. Just went to pull the hood release and realized the cable is not attached to the release pull lever under the dash. Did they need to disconnect this to replace the top black portion of the dash? At some point they did open hood to check the oil in the water, etc. levels. Thanks!

not sure the extent of the dash replacement but if they had to replace the bottom strip where the hood release is im sure they did have to disconnect it. not sure why they would have to replace it though as it shouldnt really be sticky. they couldve just undid the connections and let it hang thats what i do.

They just replaced the top black portion of dash and when I got the car back the hood release metal cable was detached from the pull lever under the dash. Would they have needed to detach this cable to do something around the lower dash in the process of replacing upper dash?

I don't detach the cable from the lever whenever I remove a dashboard. Some people do. I think it's all a matter of preference. Call the dealership and let them know what is wrong. I'm sure they can take care of it for you.
