Is it possible board you replaced has different firmware and is expecting different files etc on HDD? just a thought. We have used jap imports here in NZ as well, I've tried to mount nav HDD to read files but no sucess (I'm no expert though) I changed unit to an aftermarket nav unit as I don't read japanese

By isolate, I mean any component of the nav unit could have caused this generic error message. You should determine what is causing the problem before trying to fix the nav unit.

I think what Droth stated is likely unless you know that the board is the same version you replaced with (sometimes manufacturers stamp version/revision numbers on the board).

Windows won't wipe your HD's data if you're careful to not click Yes if it asks you to initialize the disk. It's unlikely that Lexus/Toyota come up with there own file system, and there are drive partitioning programs out there that can detect what file system it is. But these programs can easily destroy all data with a couple of clicks if you're not careful.

It could also be that the drive is corrupted that's why you can't see any data there.

I just got this message yesterday when i start my car again.
The VSC got on , the ABS en the Slip got on.

I only disconnect the battery remove the Nav Unit , change the hard drive then put it back in and put the battery back on.

Online i read about talking both connector off and let it overnight and connect it back in the morning.
i did that and still everything remain the same.
I Scan the Computer and got these error.

P0517
C1336
C1203
C1223

Am searching now online to see what these Error can be

^^^ This seems very likely...
What was the first problem and exactly what all was swapped out and/or replaced?

Communication from board to board is reliant on Firmware versions being compatible. That said, one ribbon cable improperly seated on any of PCBA's and all bets are off.
