Default Steering Wheel Logo Repair

Looking for a simple inexpensive way to replace or repair the chipped chrome (plastic) Lexus logo in the center of the steering wheel on an 08 IS350.

Just buy a new logo on eBay for ~10 bucks. Pry the old logo off, clean up the residue and glue on the new one.

^ That's essentially what i did, but used the clear silicone sealant instead of the brown. Did not remove the wheel or any other components either - just yanked it with a screwdriver and pliers, like an idiot. Did not understand the seriousness of doing what i did, but its done now and looks OK after the clear sealant was cleaned up!

Honestly though, i don't recommend doing this mod - it honestly isn't worth it. Id look at avoiding to pull the badge off and instead look to alternative methods to patch up the existing one. Yeah, I did get a shiny new badge on there, but i know its not installed correctly and it got scratched anyway during one of my failed install attempts.

This is a dangerous way to replace the logo as the new logo will fly like a bullet toward the driver's head if the airbag explodes.

The original logo is anchored, not glued, to the airbag cover to prevent the undesirable consequence from happening.
