Hi,

Been researching this for weeks as I didn't want to join and post questions straight away but I have had no luck trying to do my own research so I would appreciate all your help.

I have a UK 2008 IS220D and my air con compressor bearings are gone making a nasty rattling noise by its pully which gets worse if the aircon is on.
I know you can replace the American air con compressor with a denso or the lexus part is a denso one anyway, is the UK model? as I have tried to buy off denso and they are telling me they don't stock the air con compressor for my car. I also see a lot of people with Lexus's say to replace the bearing but after trying a good few local mechanics looking at me as if I am crazy and telling me not on this air con compressor and telling me not so nicely that leave the diagnostics to them and not google. Is this correct as I cant get into the engine to see if the 10mm bolt is there. From everything I have read, I think this is beyond me anyways and I dont think I have the tools to get to it to complete.

Anyway, onto my question. I want to buy refurbished or replacement part and not second hand. Is there a denso part I can buy and how much should I be paying and do I need to replace the full A/C system if it is only the bearings gone?

The Denso compressor for your car is the DCP51001, if you do a bit of searching, you can find these for not too crazy a price online.
