Help pricing my car for sale
I'm considering selling my 2006 IS350 after 200k miles. I wanted to go for 300k miles, but I'm needing more room for the baby seats and crap. There aren't too many examples with that mileage for sale so I'm not sure what to ask. KBB says between $5-8k private party depending on condition. The car is in good condition (most would say great), and excellent condition for the year and mileage IMO. It could use a few things, but it's mechanically sound. Garage kept for most its life with a maintenance log and a binder full of receipts. Luxury package, NAV and MSRP was $44k. All recalls performed including new dash and all 4 doors replaced. Is there a market for such a car? Have you seen or bought any IS350s like this? If so, where would you price it?

Yeah as a seller, list it for more than you want so you can negotiate down to around what you want for it. One mans trash is another mans treasure I'd also see what other IS350s with similar mileage are listed for in your area and see how quick they are selling, if they are selling at all. Blue book says my 06 with 117k is valued at 8-9k I think, I paid $11.7k and comparing it to other IS350s in my area, I got a good deal. According to Blue book, I overpaid by A LOT but it really boils down to what the demand is in your area.

I am having the same dilemma.
I have a one-owner (me) 2010 IS 250 AWD with the Luxury Package (buttery soft semi-aniline leather, FTW!!!) with 165k miles on it--dealer maintained since new. I haven't ever owned a car past 100k miles so I just don't know when to sell. It still runs perfectly and is in literally almost new condition on the interior (I use Leatherique once per year) with full clear bra in the front. There is NONE for sale here in AZ with the Starfire Pearl/BLACK combo as I bought my car in Portland before I moved here.
Do I sell at 200k? Do I just literally drive it until it dies? Its almost all highway commuting, never been eaten in or drank in. No spills EVER, stains, etc.
Could I get 300k out of it? I still get all services done at the Lexus dealer.
I guess I won't really lose any money on it if I drive it 2 more years. BUt I will probably buy a brand new ES or GS when it dies.

Good luck selling it
You should get above average price considering you managed to get all recalls done. Specially ZLD.
Don't worry much about the mileage, the engine can literately drive for ever, and Lexus are known to hold their price.
I would get a professional paint detail (Makes a big difference) and tag her for $ 9k .

it's worth a lot more to you than to someone else, because you know exactly where the car has been.
yes, it will go 300k if it's been taken care of well.
there is no market for a 200k car, you will have to practically give it away.
i totally disagree with pricing it high.
price it fairly, ie $6500-7500, and plan on coming off that price $500 in negotiations
after all, the goal is to get buyers to engage in your car, to come look at it. if it's what you state, once they see it, you, and the records, it will create an emotional response (it's hot and i want it!) and it's a done deal.
getting a professional detail is good advice.
take a photo of your maintenance records and include those in the ad.
