Default Headlights

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and need some advice on headlights. I want new headlights on my 2006 IS 250 but I don't want to pay for really expensive ones that are like $1000 a piece..I was thinking more around $400 or $500 a piece. I do want nice ones that won't die on me though, and I don't know anything about cars so I don't know where I can find some good headlights that are good quality. Any advice on what to get?

Are you looking for the entire headlight housing OR specifically just the bulbs? Halogen or HIDs? There are several aftermarket models out there, but if you're looking for an OEM-replacement at non-OEM prices, then look at TYC.

if you want quality headlights oem is always going to be the way to go, if you want cheap headlights go ebay.

quality/durability usually don't go with cheap, but good luck on your search.

I have yet to see any aftermarket headlights that are a good OEM HID replacement. The output sucks and if you add in HID you spray light everywhere. If you just have halogen's you could get the aftermarket specd/vipmoto/etc and hope they last, but time and time again people have posted having issues with theirs. The taillights however I run SpecD and have no issues with them.

Did the car come with stock halogen or xenon (HID) or AFS? OEM is always the best. I saw one headlight in the classifieds. Also, check eBay.

If you want affordable headlights and can deal with halogens then the eBay ones should do you just fine. No issues with mine with a year and going strong.

can't tell. looks like they just need to be restored. I'd try that before spending all that money.

These are some I found on ebay that were the most popular! Does anyone have these? Good or bad?

agree with the poster above who said they need to be restored not replaced. those look completely fixable with some tlc.

Default headlights IS 250

Well, I would restore them but I'm kind of looking for some new cooler looking ones. I plasti dipped my emblems black and I have tinted tail lights. So I think some cool new headlights with black housing would be awesome! I just don't want to spend thousands of dollars on them...I want them to be affordable haha. That's where I need opinions on where to find good ones

You can black out the headlights yourself as well. There's a whole thread on it.

If you dont want to pay a lot...either black themout yourself or have a shop do it.

The offbrand oems are 50/50 with you losing brightness and sharpness.

I had the Vipmotoz until i shelled out 1500 for OEM leds

For $350 just buy them. At least they are clear and will work.
