Default Electric Cutout

Hello, I purchased an electric cutout online and received it not realizing that I got a 3 inch cutout while my Lexus pipe is about 2.5 inches. I was wondering if there is a problem with me welding on a 3 inch cutout in the middle of my 2.5 inch piping (I will be replacing the resonator with said cutout). Will there be any "back pressure" problems or anything? I feel if it gets bigger in the middle then back to smaller piping there might be problems but I'm not sure, I have no experience in this so I'll have someone weld it for me. Also will there be a change in sound (other then the straight pipe of course)? Sorry if this doesn't make much sense I'm kinda not sure what I'm writing myself lmao.

I'd not worry about it and good for it. There won't be any measurable differences before and after.

thanks, I just wasn't sure how the size would effect it. Thanks for clarifying.
