Question Wheel upgrade 2012 IS350 AWD

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows about rims and wheel setup on IS350 AWD. I have the stock 17in rims with 225/45/17 tires. I want to upgrade the car to 18in rims. So the tires would be 225/40/18 does anyone knows if this will cause any problems? I'm thinking of putting the ENKEI TUNING RAIJIN (Hypersilver, my car is black) with MICHELIN PILOT SPORT A/S 3+ (W- OR Y-SPEED RATED) 225/40ZR18

I want to know what you guys think, also I have heard bad things about Enkei from some people, but online I have read that many people say they are actually great wheels.

Hey I also have a 350 AWD, stock 17s as my winters and 18's for summer. My summer rims are TSW Nurburgrings 18x8 with +35, running 225/40/18 with no issues/rubbing, etc. I had the same issue, TSW having bad reputation (totally soft wheels) but I have had zero issues, haven't heard bad things about enkei either.

These are my similarly styled 18's on stock suspension 350 AWD for reference.

Looks great man! I'm getting very similar wheels. However, did you notice a difference in the ride? I mean it know it will ride harder, but how much harder? I live in MI so our roads are pretty bad, but I know how to drive (sometimes lol)

It is a bit harsher with the narrower sidewall, but still rides very smooth. I think the steering is a little bit looser, maybe because they are lighter. The 350 AWD already has the steering damper installed so don't waste your time thinking about that. The roads in MA are terrible too, just have to not slam potholes and your fine (I've hit a couple hidden ones without issues though).

Just make sure you get hubcentric rings and the correct style lugs and you're all set. I've heard you can lower up to 1" on the AWD models without issue, lower than that and you start having some vibration and wear if you're concerned with the look.
