Default AWD Rim question

I know there are many threads on tires/rims and I have read them but they made my head hurt. I have an IS 250 AWD with 17x8 rims.

I am looking to get some chrome rims, can I use the standard lexus IS 17x7.5 or 18x8 rims that people have for other IS trims?

Will 17x7.5 or 18x8 fit on the AWD? I wonder since the 18x8 was not offered for the AWD IS, that they might be a problem. Will they throw off the speedometer since the car came with 17s?

Yes basic questions I know...

well i sold my 18x8 non staggered is350 rims to a guy who had the is250 awd and he had 5mm spacers and they fit. as far as speedometer goes you need to stick to 225/40 18 threw 245/40 18 tires and you will be fine.

17x7.5 and 18x8 will both fit. Speedometer will be thrown off if your aspect ratio (height of tire) is too big or too small.

Is there a reason why you're going with such thing wheels? I see that you're from Texas, they don't get too much snow over there do they? Otherwise, i'd go with 8.5 width all around. Also, most members here go with 19inch wheels unless you're set on going with 17s/18s

Just trying to go with stock size, which was 8 inches wide. i could go wider, but would rather not deal with spacers or anything else. 19/20s have a rough ride and get broken easily. plus being military, i know I am probably headed north in 18 months to a colder assignment

do i need spacers for 18x8s?

So the 8.5 rim width will be okay to run a 18x8.5 setup on an AWD IS? I've been looking at the Wedssport SA-55M and am wondering if that was safe to run without rubbing on full lock turns on stock suspension.

No thread hijacking intended to the OP.

will 225/45R17 tires fit on an 17x7/5 Rim? I have them on 17x8 wheels right now.

The wheels I am looking at are 17x7.5 with a +38 offset. will the +38 offset being less than the +45 offset of the stock wheels mean the tire will be sunken in or sticking out?

sorry for the noob questions...
