Default Engine Start Button Swap

Has anyone actually swapped out their engine start button with an aftermarket one? I have seen the Youtube from CL showing how to do it, but was just curious to see if anyone has actually done it. Also, can you only swap it out the one in CL video (Part# MS422-00003)?

I just bought this switch from another member, just waiting to pick it up. When I install it I will take some photos of the process and post them up.

How much did it cost?

the listed price was $90 but i bought it with a bunch of other things so maybe a bit less. There's two different types of buttons, with and without the light on top. The typically run around $180-220 from memory on ebay

Oh yeah, there's been plenty that have swapped to a TOMs or TRD button.

Yeah they were pretty expensive on ebay. I might just hold off on that for a while then.

Open the side panel with a trim tool or by hand, several banana clips hold it in place.

Pull the lower dash panel outwards, several banana clips hold it in place.

Repeat for the section under the start/stop button.

There is a clip on the top and bottom of the backside of the switch, press the lower section to release, then push the entire switch out.

Unplug the old switch and plug the new switch in.

Make sure the switch works and reverse the order to reassemble.

Enjoy. Total time: 5 minutes (for pictures) or less.

Yeah I'm pretty happy with it, for short money and little work it adds a nice subtle touch to the enthusiast.. most people won't even know it's different. On a side note, at night the TRD emblem glows orange.. I'll post a pic here tonight

I like your carbon fiber trim by the way. Was that a DIY or did you order it from somewhere?

I have a 350, the trim is DIY and for sale actually (for both 06-08 and 09-13), shift **** is from an ISF.

Which part number do you have MAizz? The one I ordered from TRD Japan illuminates green and matches the rest of the interior, or did you change yours?
