Check VSC IS250 2007
Hi guys,
I have read lot of articles about check vsc light but I am experiencing more specific situation. I am facing check vsc icon almost twice a month. When I connect my obd diagnostics it always says that there is problem with vsc and 2nd catalysator. I am wondering if cat error can influence vsc function. When I erase all dsc's I can drive 2-3 weeks without error. Dont know if I should change vsc sensor and if, than which one...

It ran a lean code for my Check VSC. It would go on and off every other week. I changed my gas cap and it was gone for about a month. Then it recently popped up again. 2007 IS250 6MT 111,937 Miles.

Very strange that it's just throwing you that code. First thing I would do is reset the ECU (just disconnect and reconnect the battery). If that doesn't fix the problem, let us know.

I have no problem with reseting ecu. The problem is that this fault code appears again within two weeks or so.

Your description of the error doesn't match what you posted. The image shows "Engine control system malfunction", and nothing about either VSC or or catalyst.
I was guessing you were going to post a readout with P0420 or P0430 (catalyst efficiency below threshold), a common problem caused by an exhaust leak in the Y-pipe (under the heat shield), and "Check VSC" light on the dashboard, which is not a problem, but simply a result of the fact that the system disables traction control whenever the check engine light is on.

Exactly. The "Check VSC" indicator is displayed whenever the check engine light is on. And the catalyst problem, especially when it comes and goes sporadically, is usually the result of an exhaust leak venting hot gasses before they reach the catalytic convertors, delaying their lightoff until after the efficiency self-test runs.
