Default Do these wheel specs work?

Whats up ClubLexus!!

So Ive decided (for reals this time) on what style wheel I want for my first wheel purchase. I have decided to go with the VMR V810 in 19's . However I just got off the phone with Tracy and was told that my specs would be 19x8.5 +35 front and 19x9.5 +40 rear.

He was concerned that maybe the wheels may be too aggressive and may not fit the car properly. Do any of you know if this would work for my 06 IS350? I have BC Coilovers on at the moment and am VERY low but will be making adjustments to have the wheels sit properly. Any advice guys? Thanks!

Aggressive? Those are far from aggressive my friend. And yes, you will want to raise your car (as I did with my 19s), remove the front liners (not 100% necessary), and get to trimming your bumper tab area.

Yeah I didnt think that would be aggressive either but since im not knowledgable in this regard I had to ask lol. He said he wasnt sure if it would work since they normally recommend a 45mm offset on the rear for our 2IS.

I will be definitely raising the car to fit these guys in. Oh and what do you mean by bumper tab mod and removing front liners? This is all still pretty new to me. Thanks

Basically you might encounter the tire rubbing the inner plastic liners and the point near where the plastic bumper attaches to the metal fender. You MIGHT have to trim the bumper tab and relocate and MIGHT have to trim down any excessive metal in the area to avoid tire-to-metal contact during hard cornering/bumps/potholes. I had to do this on my own 2IS; just used a leftover nut and bolt to relocate the point at where the bumper attaches and trimmed a hell of alot of metal out of the area to avoid cutting a tire. But remember, I'm at a 25 offset up front on a 225/35/19 tire, you might avoid most of this with your higher offset.

those specs are crazy weak! Run from their help. lol wheels specs all depend on 1) what fits inside the fenders and 2) how much you're willing to handle. you can get away with much more aggressive specs without much headache.

Yeah after researching more and more I realized how weak these specs are lol. Ive actually been asked to join a local car crew in my area and am now looking into more wheels again. So VMR is most likely not gonna be my wheel choice after (I know , I know, I change my mind to frequently but this is for good reason) Im thinking of saving a little more purchasing some Enkei's or Vossens now. But we shall see on that. Thanks
