Default navigation dvd question

hello all. so this might be a dumb question but i am trying to change my navigation dvd to an updated one but when i go to eject the old dvd it doesn't come out. does the dvd stay in the reader at all times or is it something you pop in, install and then remove and I'm just stupid trying to eject something that isn't in there?

The DVD does not go into the CD changer, there is a separate optical drive behind the panel with the clock. You need to remove the panel with the clock by inserting the pin tools into the holes and pulling it out, revealing the DVD loading slot.

NAV unit is behind the panel in the pic above. The tools should be in the tool bag in the trunk of the car in the center binding of the tool container.

I actually did this yesterday. 2 things that were very helpful to know is push the tools all the way in. The other is put slight pressure in on each and pull the panel out. DON'T use a screw driver to pull out. I found several how to videos saying you need to do that. As you can see in the link the tools push in the brackets holding it in place. I wish the previous owner of my car knew that I have small indents on each side of the panel where they pryed it out.
