Removed my leaky seal with the hook-looking pick from my previous picture above. It took yanking on it on three difference spots in order to get it to finally loosen up and pop out. Lubed up the outside and inside areas of the new seal in ATF and by hand pressed it into the trans case. To fully seat it, I used a 15mm socket against the seal surface and a flat pry bar against the back of the socket to leverage the seal in just a tad bit more. So far no leaks.
It should be noted that that shaft goes completely through the trans and there are two seals. Tho I didn't look to see if they share the same PN's.
That said, it may be wise to do them both. One of which for RWD vehicles is on the RHS of the vehicle under the neutral safety switch.
Snap-on and others make a simple seal pulled for this but a sharp punch piercing a hole in the metal followed by a pick or a small screw work well too.
