Default Bluetooth upgrade to A2DP

Hey guys,

I have a 2007 with Nav. My touchscreen quit working so I've torn my radio apart to fix it.
In the process I removed what looks like the bluetooth module. Denso model BT0501A.
Since we all know that the 06 - 09 models only allow for telephone via bluetooth, but the 2010 models allow for phone and music to be streamed and controlled by the unit as well.

So I know this is longshot, but has anyone tried upgrading to the 2010+ BT module that supports the A2DP, then has anyone gotten it to successfully work and have music controlled.

Thanks

I would be interested also, as I am using an external blutooth connected to the 3.5 AUX, The only problem I would see is that the Bluetooth controls are probably built into the software of the unit also, like displaying the track info and switching songs. Not sure tho but just what I would imagine.

To revive an old thread... Does anybody got an idea what the part number is for the 2010+ BT module? I'd be willing to be the guinea pig, though I do have my doubts because of the lack of a BT tab on the source list.

I think you missed the whole point of his post, which is to question whether replacing the internal Bluetooth card in his '07 radio (that only has built-in Bluetooth for phone) with one from a '10 or newer car would instill it with the ability to play Bluetooth music.

I'm in the same camp as you. I think there is almost no chance that it is going to work in an earlier generation radio, but I don't know for sure...

We'd probably need someone to take apart their 10 radio to look up the BT module. Again, I doubt it'll get us very far though considering they're two very different nav's (dvd based vs hdd based), and we don't even have the BT source on our source list. It wouldn't hurt to try though.

Probably a little more agitating for myself since I've been driving my RX a lot more than my IS lately, and I keep hitting the buttons on the steering wheel in the IS expecting a song switch.

Also check out Grom!

http://gromaudio.com/store/all-toyn_lex5_.html

They have a bluetooth module that plugs in to the back of the stereo. Or you can buy the iPhone/Android component that creates a usb connection which charges and plays music, and add on the bluetooth dongle for 50 bucks. I haven't used their products... but from my research this is most likely what I will be doing.
