Nigel hasn't responded but according to 78Works Instagram page the price converted from yen is 588.38 plus tax. They mentioned if shipping abroad to transfer from www.tenso.com/en also an HID kit is required.

Just read the translated description on their website and it says

"This headlight is a halogen bulb specification"

Are you sure you're reading the correct version? I know that on their insta the release date is 1/30/16.

There is a previous version that is halogen only, but for owners with factory HID it gives AFS warnings.

The point of the new release (from my understanding) is for owners w factory HID so it's a direct swap and will not throw AFS warnings. Im not sure if the headlamp itself is HID, but Im assuming it should be?

Also $588 seems to be around the same price Ebay ones are going for. The new version was projected to be around $1k?

If these are the same as ebay ones then I got blue-balled big time

Go to the website http://www.78-works.jp/shopdetail/000000000131 and translate it in english. Also it says on the bottom:

"low beam: H7 high beam: H1 Halogen bulbs are included"

"This headlight is a halogen bulb specification
It becomes possible HID reduction in that you get attached to outside HID kit."

That's disappointing

Yeah don't understand why all the AFS talk if these were intended for Halogen lights... I may just take the plunge anyway and use a converter like this to use my factory ballast

Amazon.com: Aftermarket AMP HID Bulbs Adapters For OEM D2S D2R Ballasts: Automotive Amazon.com: Aftermarket AMP HID Bulbs Adapters For OEM D2S D2R Ballasts: Automotive

the 78works taillights are high quality I would expect the same quality with the headlights

Will these work with the AFS system without any problems?
