Ever since the 'new' car excitement wore off, its bothered me how far in the back wheels are set. I've been looking at buying new rims and tires to fix the offset and get them alittle more flush. I decided to go outside and see what tires I have, cause they suck, and noticed something quite odd.
Both of my rear tires are 225s. And they fit the rims perfectly. Everything I can find says they're supposed to be 255s. So I guess the previous owner bought an extra 2 front rims and put them on the back... What the **** is wrong with people?!
She's Japanese, not Chinese. That whole small feet thing isn't cool there.
Took me a while to understand what you meant with the foot thing. Sucks that you didn't see this tire problem earlier, guess you're dumb like the Americans we are?
Did you check the front tires to make sure they aren't the 255's (or whatever size they are)? I had that problem when I bought my IS350. Some goofball wasn't paying attention and rotated them to the front for whatever reason. Explained the noise and rubbing I had. Got two free tires off the dealer.

haha Yeah, definitely could've talked down the dealer a good bit!

Good catch. But ya, the fronts are 225s as well. I can't even think of a logical explanation as to why someone would do this. Maybe the broke the back wheels and bought front ones to repalce them? We'll never know. haha
Looks like you have 18x8 wheels in the rear AND up front...thus making the tire look fine sitting on the wheel. Remove the wheel and look for this on the backside of the wheel : "18x8". The rear should be 18x8.5 wheels out back.
Is your car AWD? If not, maybe the previous owner want to run squared setup so he/she could rotate the wheels and extend the life of the tires.
Not a big deal since you could pick up a pair of used rims for less than $200.

RWD. That makes sense. I'm just gald that I was right about the offset looking ridiculous. haha
Honestly it doesn't get much better with the 255 width tire.....I noticed this will all IS250 and 350. You need the 255 tire and a 20 mill spacer to actually get rid of that ugly look of the wheel sinking into the body. The rear tires and wheels dont do a good job of filling up gap even with the 255 tire
Here my 350 with the 255 tire and 20 mill spacer.

Thanks for that. Yeah, I'm definitely gonna get rid of these rims and buy a much wider set with a perfect offset. Not really too comfortable with running spacers that big. I've been doing lots of research trying to figure out what widths and offsets will look the best.
