Default Ventilated Seats - constantly running

My 2008 IS 250 ventilated seats are running continously - both seat bottoms and backs. The switch is inoperable...so obviously the heated seats aren't working either.

Anyone else have this problem, anyone have some suggestions on what could be the issue?

Thanks.

Have you recently removed the centre console? If the switch is unplugged, the seats default to AC on, no heat. I would check the harness underneath the switches.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! That's interesting and maybe good news. I disconnected the switch fuse and it had no effect and was puzzled. I downloaded some wiring diagrams from techinfo and noticed that power comes into the A/C amplifier to the seat blowers and that must be where it is getting juice. So if the switch is shorted out that might be the issue also?. I will take off the console and have a look and maybe try to test that switch also if not connected. Keep fingers crossed it isn't something more labor intensive then that. I'd happily buy a new switch if that was it!

Hooray! Turns out both plugs were not plugged into the center console. I have no idea why that would be as I just bought the car, must have worked on something and dealer forgot to attach. Everything now works. Thanks again, strange it would default to ventilation without switch power...but maybe that makes it easier to know the problem!

I called several shops and Lexus dealers, most wanted $150 to diagnose and talked about relays, shorts, ripping apart the seats, etc etc all BS.

Thanks again for the advice.
