Default Recommended springs & shocks

On a budget otherwise I'd be getting coilovers. I know not to pair lower springs with OEM shocks so does anyone have any recommendations?
Thx.

What's your budget? You can find some great used ones in the classified section. I got some used BC coils for cheap on there. Good luck!

If u gonna do a good set of aftermarket spring and shock the price will come out close to a set of coilover maybe just 100 or 200 cheaper so my suggestion get coilover! Do it right the first time alot of people got Springs and regret it later so do it right. If ur on budget just get megan ez

This is exactly what I've been thinking as well. I really wanted the H&R springs but when I looked up how much I would also spend on Shocks, it's becoming very hard to justify not spending some extra dough on a cheap set of coils. Decisions decisions...

That's not true. I have F-Sport springs with stock shocks for 5 years (95k mi) and have absolutely no problems. I also have F-Sport sways and the car handles great. Comfy like stock but decently flat on turns.

As other guys said, look in the CL classifieds for used set of coilovers. Don't get a cheap set of springs either cause they'll wear out quick. Buister says his set up works for him so look into that route.
A set of good shocks would be the tokico(blues) and they're not cheap either but one of the best, imo.

If you are not on a budget, what would you suggest? Are coilovers better somehow? How much of a difference do you believe there would be from stock springs and shocks?

Thanks in advance?

So I've had Tokio blues, and lowering springs, in my civic and I liked'em a lot. The bounce is different than coilovers. My IS has coilovers and it has more of a smooth bounce, unlike my lowering springs had a stiff bounce. Took corners so well. I like coilovers cause you can manually lower them if you change wheel and or tire size plus you get a "luxury" bounce like a cadi.
I wouldn't go any other route but coilovers.
Keep reading and check out the CL classifieds.

I'd recommend that you invest in a linear spring like Swift. Koni Yellow adjustable struts are a really good compliment. The quality of the strut makes all the difference in the world. If you skimp, you will not be happy.

How much of a drop is your car with the F sport compared to your stock springs?
