went to see a used 2006 is350 odo read 52k miles current owner stated he had the car for a year which matches carfax history but from prev owner there are pepboys tire service/replacement that state up to 112k miles... Any input? how should i face the situation? car seemed nice some dents that need pulling and couple scratches maybe a wheel bearing and struts are dead but engine seemed nice and powerful tranny shifted well to had all labels in place so prob no major accident 0 accident report also.

yes thanks looks to sketchy car wasn't in the greatest condition either but for 52kmiles seemed like a good price for a is350 even with the details but since it has such high millage im going to walk away already found a 2006 manual trans is 250 at a dealer right by my house with 72k miles and its basically perfect clean carfax but no millage story but it has no details fsport springs and fsport brakes(is350) interiors are like new so prob has stated millage and its at a local dealer not independent seller so millage fraud is less likely gonna buy it for sure
mileage fraud can be done anywhere
people returning their leased vehicles roll back the mileage before bringing the car back to the dealer
I would always check registration hits on carfax and make sure the mileage is consistent
FYI, just because Pep Boys mentioned the 112k miles on a past receipt, doesn't make it accurate. I have ~40k miles on my 2IS when I visited Lexus for a recall. After the visit I looked online at my service history to see they mentioned my mileage being 62k+. I asked about them fixing it; they said they have no way of fixing their error in the system.

yes i know that can happen but there where multiple progressive millage reports leading to 112k which seems accurate in anyones book, i just walked away. thanks tho!

Hmmm.... I would take a good long thought about buying a 250 over a 350. I mean unless having a stick means a lot to you, there's no real good reason why you should buy a 250. Just trying to give you a heads up before you go and buy.
