My IS350 has those 18" wheels and it's a really tight fit trying to get under the car after driving it up on those black plastic ramps. Do you have and suggestions as to how to get more room underneath the car? I know I can lay down some 2x4's under the ramps to get a few more inches of height. But I was thinking some of you more mechanically inclined individuals could offer a better solution? I have the same problem on my other 18" wheel car.
What ramps do you have? I have an old pair of plastic Rhino ramps, and there is more than enough clearance with them to get access under the car to do oil changes.
^^^^Looks like the ones I use also. Only difference, my metal ramps are yellow gold in color but the plastic parts are black. They work for me and for a friend who's F is lowered about an inch in front.
However, I use mine with a rubber mat (under them) in my driveway. If I try to use them without the mat or in the garage, with a coated floor, they slip. I also need to climb them in snow mode. You may not have that issue with a lesser powered IS.

I usually use ramps on my other cars but for my IS I have to use a jack, just too low. I drive up on my 2x4s then throw the jack under. Add my stands and I'm str8.

I have the Blitz Black Rhino Ramps. What size wheels are on your IS?

Haha I was trying to get up mine slowly before with wet tires. That did not work at all. I got good at getting a run up the ramps and not going over.

My wife's cousin was using my ramps and I saw him drive over the ramps . After he F'd them up I was LMFAO. Another unsafe reason not to use ramps. I dig ol'skool jack/stands.
^^^^I've been around this earth for a lot longer than most of you guys here, and I've been using ramps since the 1960s (that's better than 50 years). I've never driven over them. A little common sense goes a long way.

Common sense has NOTHING to do with driving up ramps. It does take some skill to correctly get on ramps safely. This was his first time, so he learned what not to do. Just because someone is old doesn't always mean they're wiser.
^^^^Never said I was wise AND NEVER said I was OLD. You did - THANKS! However IMO, driving up on ramps requires no special skill, just some common sense. When I changed my rear sway, I backed up on my ramps, again no special skill, just be careful.
