Child Seat Recommendation
I have used safety 1st brand for both of my boys and like it. My sister daughter is using it as well.
Reasonable price while provided comfortable and great design. Make sure do some search on the review of the item you want to buy as well.

I'm using the Britax car seat and base. Heard they were one of the better ones. But as long as you got a reputable brand you should be fine. Make sure to go/call your local Police Dept about inspecting it. They have personnel that will check and make sure the seat is installed properly for free. It also helps if you bring your child with you.
We've been using Safety 1st car seats as well. We keep one in each car and a 3rd in the garage for backup. I don't think we shopped specific to the brand it just turns out that we keep going to it. All 3 are different in width and height but honestly once your child is in it they all take up the same leg space. Def recommend buying some seat protectors for the back of the front seats around $20
