Unhappy Roaring road noise sound. Help!

Hey guys,

I'll skip straight to the problem:
- I hear a roaring sound from the front left tire.
- I have rotated tires from left side to right side, same.
- Replaced Wheel Bearing Hub on left side, same.

Details:
- Just bought car 2 weeks ago
- Slight alignment problem (pulls to left). No shakes.
- Running Manzzini tires, only 3k miles on them.

Can this be caused by alignment, or the crappy tires? It is a whomp whomp sound that increases reptitions with speed, but doesnt get louder with speed. Can hear it on acceleration and braking. Read many suggestions from previous posts about bearing hub, but didnt fix issues. I think I have a different sound though than others.

Video below (sorry for the camera angle ):

Would appreciate any input!

Hello, are the tires smooth all across or are they dipped out and not even? I think it's the tires.

Sounds like a bad wheel bearing. Lift up each side and spin the wheel by hand to listen for grinding or crunching sounds.

Thanks for reply. While the bearing was being changed, mechanic said the tires are uneven and strange. Bumpy even. The next thing I plan to do is tires. Then Alignment.

I actually did change the wheel bearing. But the problem persisted.

Just because it sounds like it's coming from that side does not definitively show that it is that specific wheel bearing. Sounds can echo in the cabin and make you think that it is coming from one side when it is not. That I why I said you must rotate all the wheels and verify that there is abnormal noise coming from the wheel bearing.

Make sure you get quality tires. It's all too often that I see people cheap out on tires, which is borderline idiotic. It's like going skydiving and buying the cheapest parachute, hoping that it won't fail you.

I had it checked out at the shop. There may be an issue with the other wheel bearing. I appreciate the feedback.
Im going to get different set of tires regardless. Way too much road noise on these current ones.

Do what NickTee said and check all wheels. You wouldn't believe how often I have customers complain of a noise from a certain wheel and it ends up being the exact opposite wheel

Default Update

Hey guys. So just jacked up all the tire myself. I jacked up the car from all 4 sides and noticed that the drivers left (my original concern) has about an inch wiggle room in the 9 to 3 o'clock direction. But, no give or wiggle room in the 6 to 12 o'clock direction. All other tires are stable in all directions.

Thoughts?

But does it make any noise when you spin it. It'll make noise long before it has play in. Your inch of play could be because of a tie rod on that side.

Sounds like the folks that have previously inspected the vehicle aren't being thorough enough. The alignment guys should have spotted a bent/bad tie rod or other components. The tire guys should have noticed a bent/broken wheel.

Tires from China...stay away from them!

No sounds when spinning. All smooth. Going for the tie rod. I hope not an expensive issue, never had to fix them before.

I was going to say tires... but that was until you said there's an inch of play.. Shouldn't be any play and any shop should have been able to notice that.

I had Federal tires on before and they were awful. So noisy that I also thought I had a bad wheel bearing. Put my stock wheels back on and it went back to quiet.

Yea I'm having to deal with tire road noise and this roaring noise lol.

Keep my music volume at 42 minimum so I dont hear the tires

Speaking of tires... I have Michellin on my back staggered ones, Chinese in the front. SMH at my previous owner.
