My gf has a 2009 is250 and recently upon startup it has a rattle emitting from under the driver side valve cover. She has around 107k on the clock and up until now hasn't had any issues. I changed the oil and filter and made sure the level was correct. Any ideas? It doesn't occur all the time, maybe 1/4 of the time and there isn't any consistency. Sometimes it occurs when the engine is cold sometimes hot. All I can find is dealing with the cam gear issue but that isn't supposed to be an issue with the 2009. Any help is appreciated

Oddly Lexus only put out a TSB on the IS350 for the exact same issue. I had this exact same issue, and Lexus replaced the "cam gears" on the motor.

As for what you should do as an IS250 owner, I'd get the dealership to try to replicate the issue AND try to warranty 100% of it.
