Default Another LED puddle light review

I bought these from ebay:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/111529871035?...84.m1497.l2649

To put them in, I decided to remove the two outer mirror screws, but it seemed like removing the lower outer screw was all that was needed as the bottom plastic housing is flexible so that you can bend it out to remove the puddle light:

Here is a video. I think a video shows the real brightness vs than what's shown on a photo:

Can anyone with VLed flanks tell me if yours is brighter?
Looks like there are 6W Osram flanks on ebay now. I wonder how bright those are.

Tip for anyone who tries this, make sure it's warm out. The mirror clips are fragile when cold and can easily break.

Can someone please post a video of the stock halogen puddles for comparison? In hindsight I should've done this. Thanks!

Sweet, it sounds simple but does anyone have a DIY? I'd hate myself if I broke any clips or something.

Thanks!

Basically all I did was press the mirror switch to expose the screws behind the mirror corners one at a time. Then use a long philips screw driver to take the screws out. Lastly, use a credit card to help separate the housing.

Can anyone with VLed flanks chime in to let me know if their VLEDs are brighter?

Also, any comments are welcome!

Just put a pair of VLEDs in about 2 weeks ago (replaced a cheap ebay set) and they are much brighter, they look pretty similar to the ones you have installed. The specs say 210 LM vs 160 for the VLEDs so I'd say yours are a little brighter, the VLEDs look whiter though. As for the installation, takes about 5 minutes if you've done it before, 10 if you haven't.

Thanks! The Osram 6watt T10's are supposed to be 200+ lumens too. I thought Osrams would be much brighter. Too bad we cannot stick anything longer than 28mm in the puddle housing or it won't fit; otherwise, we would have more "brighter" choices.

If anyone is going to replace the puddle lights soon, please see if you can measure what the max. length of bulb is that would fit into the housing. Thanks!

So you are saying that i don't need to remove the mirror glass from the housing? I've seen some videos of how remove it and you have to pull very hard and i'm afraid i could break something.

I was afraid of breaking the mirror as well, that's why I did it the way I described above.
