Default Turning off invasive "Check System" when running winter tires without TPMS

I have winter tires now. No TPMS.

I understand cars will flash and warn me about TPMS sensor.

But it is pretty invasive on the Lexus. Has constant "Check System" and red triangle warning.

Anyway I can turn these warnings off. I like the outside temp to be the default screen on the instrument cluster. Now all I get is a constant warning.

I know I can press DISP button on steering wheel but it is only temporary.

Thanks

Unfortunately the only way to get it to go off would be to install TPMS sensors in your winter wheels.

Right, sorry, I should have specified, you need TPMS sensors, installed or not (in the spare, in a pipe, etc.). But you'll need the sensors pressurized one way or another. There is no way to disable the system that I am aware of.

Search for the pipe bomb. Not hard to do and costs about $50. $45 for sensors on eBay and $5 for material.

I guess if I get the $45 sensors, would they work mounted on the tires?

Strange, I don't have TPMS sensors on my winters, but I only get the lower right yellow warning light. I am able to set my display to show whatever info mode I want it to. I have a 2011 IS250 AWD.

Yes, as long as you get the correct ones AND if your wheels can take TPMS sensors. Not all aftermarket wheels can.

This was changed on later models.

I posted a similar version of this question in another forum, so apologies for the (mild) x-post.

So how many TPMS sensors can a Lexus remember? I read in my manual about the dealer needing to use a scantool to mate the sensors to the car, do you need to do this every time you switch winters to summers, or can the car "remember" 8 different wheels?

The car can remember two different sets of TPMS.

I have aftermarket wheels and kept the sensors in my OEM set of wheels. But i have 4 sensors in my spare and that took care of the warning lights.

I need to figure out how to have both sets programmed though because we had to set it to main, it wouldnt accept the spare sensors as 2nd.
