Default Valve ticking when cold

I've noticed a little bit of valve ticking when the engine is cold, the ticking completely goes away when the engine reaches operating temperature. Is this common with 2IS, am I going to have to adjust the valve lash? I'm not overly familiar with these engines so any advice will be much appreciated.

What oil do you currently use and at what mileage are you at on your current oil change interval?

I use mobile synthetic 5w30(or whatever the manual said), I changed my oil about 2k miles ago.

First thing first, make sure the oil level is satisfactory. Has this noise just recently started after it got cold this fall/winter? Had it done it previous winters? Perhaps a thicker oil or perhaps a change in brand?

These cars have hydraulic lash adjusters on the valves, so there is no adjustment to be made. Are you sure it's not the injectors ticking (although this usually doesn't go away when warm)?
