IS250 Checking Automatic Transmission Fluid
Is there any DIY guide on how to check and possibly top-up the automatic transmission fluid on the IS250? Few years back I had a solenoid changed in my transmission because of an error code that kept appearing, but everything drove fine. After the change, gradually the gear changes have become very jerky and when driving slow if it drops to first gear and i press the throttle lightly the rpm jumps high and creates a jerk.
I read somewhere that the symptom is most likely related to not enough Transmission Fluid, it's just been getting progressively worse and looking for some help or guides to be able to maybe check the level and be able to top up myself if possible.
Any help would be appreciated.

The transmission on the RWD IS250 has a "overflow" plug on the bottom of the transmission pan. And a refill plug on the drivers side of the transmission housing, I not sure what temp the fluid has to be but it should trickle out the overflow plug when at the wright temp. I think if you drain the pan you get about 1.5 quarts out of the almost 8 quart total, i have not checked or changed mine yet but my Tacoma truck has no dip stick and has the same type pan with the overflow and fill plugs, I would use the Toyota World class fluid.
