Default IS350 intermittent stalling while driving

Hey guys

I've been having some problems with my car where it intermittently stalls when I'm driving. I am updated with all the previous recalls.

The problem is that it will go away as well for a couple days. When there is a problem, the Check VSC lights illuminate, and the engine can stall anytime. I remember it happening maybe once or twice earlier this year, but recently the problem has been occurring much more often.

I brought the car in to the dealership, and low and behold they couldn't duplicate the problem. Previous codes thrown were P0102 and P0113 which are the mass air flow sensor, but even then it should not cause a stall.

I've been researching the forums, and it seems like it may be the wire harness that is attached to the fuel pressure sensor as there was a recall on this as well, and could have been damaged by the tech.

Any input will be appreciated!

Here is my experience:

I have had a similar problem like you. During the first 8 months of last year my car stalled three times and the check engine/VSC light came on. I checked my gas cap, re-tighten the gas cap or disconnect my battery for 5 minutes and the lights would go away each time I did that. Then my car would start to bog then stall once or twice a week. Brought it in to the dealer to get it scanned for codes, and I got the same codes as you posted. So my dealer calls me and tells me that they are going to replace my Mass Air Flow sensor for free because they said that my MAF was malfunctioning and providing really bad air/fuel ratio's to the ECU, thus causing the car to stall. Come to find out, the Mass Air Flow sensor was the culprit. My car has been fine ever since they replaced the MAF.

I'm not saying that it is your mass air flow sensor that is causing the problem and you should have it replaced. I'm just trying to let a fellow CL member know that it could be your MAF due to the experience I had with my IS350 stalling.

Try a can of MAF cleaner first; then if the problem persists, replace the MAF itself.

Thanks for the feedback guys

I am hoping that is the problem. I have ordered a replacement on ebay, and I'll keep you guys posted.

Mine was cutting on and off rapidly with cel blinking rapidly. I'd put it in neutral and restart it so I could get out of traffic and wait it out. Then I changed the fuel pump and wallah

Did I buy this car? What was the outcome of this? I know this is an old thread, but I have the same problem, except a MAF sensor did not resolve the issue..
