Default interior work on my 350

Im sure im not the only only who HATES the material lexus used for the dash and door panels. The top section of my door panels were driving me crazy because they were hideous so i took my whole sunday improving on this. I remove all door panels, seprated the top part and wrapped them in suede. I knew this would work out great and the results have me ecstatic. Let me know what you think!only took pics of 2 doors but you get the point

That looks great, I did the inserts in suede. Never thought about the top part in suede. Nice job doing it yourself.

Suede was 12.99 a yard ( i bought 2 yards and still enough left over for 2 more doors if by chance you mess up) and 3m spray glue was 10 bucks. It was definitely not hard just take your time wrapping it for best results. Next project in every sense of the word will be the dash but anyone with time can get this done! Thanks for the love!

Hey was it easy for the top black part to seperate from panel? Did you have to rip it out or does it pop out?

Do you plan on doing your dash too?

Would love to see the pics if you ever do it.

The top section is held together with melted plastic clips. When you remove the top of the clip (i did with a chisel) it leaves behind a hole where a screw can be placed. I did have prior knowledge on this because my pops works for lexus so this is a procedure that is done whenever someone wants the leather replaced on the door panel. Sorry i didnt take pics but im glad to answer questions because i know how frustrating this black material is to deal with on a day to day basis

Looks good. Debating doing my whole dash, door cards, console, and eventually headliner in alcantara...but that would be $1000 project by the time you figure in total yardage needed.

So once the top is off, the bottom skinny piece just pops off to? Does that part have clips as well? I'm thinking about tackling this weekend..just trying figure out how many clips is there. Thanks
