Fuel Injection and Throttle bodies service?
Brought my car in for an Oil change today. They recommended that I do the fuel injection and throttle body service. Has anyone ever had this service done? If so how does your car perform now? Also is there a DIY thread on here? I tried searching but no luck.

I know how to remove the air intake but how exactly do you clean the throttle body? I don't want to mess anything up.

Was this a Lexus service department that told you this?

Inspect the TB yourself for whether it needs cleaning or not. The injectors being dirty is HIGHLY unlikely because the fuel itself helps keep them clean. So if you DD your IS250, that is BS.
Now, what you MIGHT need (fully dependent on your motor's health) is a carbon build-up cleaning. I'd call it a top-end cleaning; not sure what Lexus calls it.

Disregard my username I had an is250 awd but traded it for an is350. I do DD my is350 though and I've taken a look at the TB and it is somewhat dirty. Since these car are drive by wire I'm not sure how to keep the TB open. I'm reaching 60k miles real soon and plan to do the spark plugs my self so while at it I wanted to clean the TB but don't want to risk messing something up and throwing CEL.
It will allow your car to idle better and run a little smoother.
Not worth the money at the dealership or any other shop. Its really simply and takes only a couple minutes.
Fuel injector service isn't really necessary, its more of one of those piece-of-mind things.
I'm a tech at toyota so I do these services regularly.

Every-time I clean the throttle body I just spray the flap, scrub it with a soft toothbrush, wipe it all down, make sure it's squeaky clean. Then I clean the intake tube carbon soot, spray down the MAF sensor with sensor cleaner and wash the F-Sport filter with filter cleaning solvent (I have two filters, allow the filter to dry before installing). The first 10 miles, the car acts and feels like a race horse with a high idle no matter what. It calms down after it adjusts the air flow. I would also like to add that I clean the rubber seal sleeves with degreaser then I use some German made rubber treatment liquid to restore the rubbers sealing properties. Also to protect it from engine heat. Not that it's needed but adds a little bit of piece of mind. I've done this every 15k. I have about 150,000 without an issue. As a matter of fact I just did it last oil change, three weeks ago. And on tonight's 20 mile highway trip I averaged 37mpg lol. At least that's what the computer said. It won't hurt to DIY.

I thought you weren't supposed to do this because you could throw off the valve body calibration since its done by wire?
