IS350 Nav/DVD Questions
So i recently picked up this 2008 IS350 and it still has the stock NAV/CD changer installed. I was looking at upgrading the CD changer unit to an OEM/DVD player.
I've been surfing the forums but could not get a solid answer to this question. Is my NAV the ML version? It has the DVD menu. Please see the pics:
If possible, I would like to buy the ML DVD player, hook it up, and keep the OEM set up.
Thoughts?

Are you able to pull up the DVD menu like the one I pictured here, on your car?

Why do you want ML if you don't have it? Putting the the DVD portion doesn't make it ML. You still don't have the amp and extra speaker that make it ML. If your trying to watch movie there kit to hook up you iPods too. Cause you ain't watching movie with the ML since it safety to the brake system.

By default it won't allow you to watch DVDs while your car is moving. But there's a hack for that involving cutting wires, or a $150 kit from Japan that bypasses it.
I thought about this as well, but the factory ML DVD player is expensive even used. I saw one in the classifieds for $450.

I've never seen that screen on my mine. Weird. However, I know that you can replace your CD player with DVD player from ML and it'll work. Someone did this on this forum. Do a search.

Yea, I read up on the hack. My last IS had an aftermarket DVD player, but it didn't have Nav so it wasn't much of an issue. I just picked up this 350 and wanted to keep the OEM look so I'm just gonna save up for the ML DVD and do the hack.
I'm assuming that I have the ML Nav considering I have this DVD menu available.
