Default rear bumper damage

I drove to big bear and put snow chains on the rear tires. Somehow that chains messed up my bumper. It took off the plastic panel that is attached to the bumper and now I don't know what to do...
I took it to the lexus collision center and the estimate was $1900!
They asked me to file a comprehensive claim with my insurance. ... but I don't know If I should. Or should I get a second opinion at another body shop... I'm also worried about the color matching since I heard starfire pearl is hard to match.
Someone please give me your opinion!

Try taking it to get a second opinion. There is a place out in Hb its known for the big smiley face but they are the #1 repair shop in OC past 3 yrs now. Maybe you may not need a new bumper thats why they quoted $1900. It may be fixed with fiberglass and fresh paint.

Also were u using big chains or did unlock to cause this? I know on my f-sport i had to sign a waiver saying i camt use chains.

Dont pay $1900.

Get a rear gfx kit and that will cover it right up...

That is a great point! This factory lip spoiler add-on for the rear bump will probably cover up that damage AND with enhance the overall look!

Judging from your wheels, you've probably got a newer model than my '06; select the model year of your 2IS first and locate the GFX rear lip under Exterior.

Why not buy a whole new rear bumper from Sewell? It cost $537 + shipping with club lexus discount.

+1 to this.

If your worried about the paint match, buy the non-painted one for ~$400 and take it to the best local body shop. Paint should be $500 top and you can have it repainted as many time as possible to ensure perfect paint match. Total process is half of the estimate.
