Default Weird powerseat motor noise

Hello fellas!

I bought my 2IS Lexus 350 fully loaded, i couldn't be happier with the car. Loving it on every aspect but i have a problem that i want you guys to help me solve.

Both my front power seats motors make a weird noise when i move them forward or backwards, like the tracks lack some grease or something. Have you guys got this problem? Could i just try to put some grease on the seat tracks to see if it gets better? If so, is there a guide to do this/ what type of grease should i use?

Thanks!!!!

Can you be more specific about the sound? Metallic or plastic? Happens when both moving forward and back? Does it do it when you help push the seat forward and back?

The noise sounds metallic, like both motors are struggling to move the seats even though they are moving at a normal speed. That's why i tought it could be a lack of lubrication on the tracks.

I'll have to test it helping it to move forward, haven't tried that yet. I'll report later.

Thanks for your attention Gville350!

Yeah, see if assistance pushing the seat makes the noise go away or something. I'm not sure what Toyota uses from the factory on the seat rails, but I've used white lithium grease to help squeaks/creaks/etc go away with my previous vehicles. Used plenty on sunroof rails to help extend sunroof motor life.

Anyone have an idea on the best way to apply grease to the seats? I think I have the same problem.

i had the same problem on my 2008 IS250,
it would make noise when the car was HOT....

luckily i had extended warranty and Lexus replaced both seat tracks for free... i looked and the bill each seat track replacement cost about $1500.
