Default scream at high revs

Hi all

I have bought a high mileage (132K miles) IS250, in the UK. Its out of warranty and overall I am quite please with the ride.

I have noticed that some times if I WOT it, at about 5500 rpm there is a sudden scream from the engine. It also happens if the cars is stationary in park. But it doesn't happen all the time. I failed to reproduce it when I took it to garage two times in a row.

I am guess this is not normal. Could it be some belt slipping or may be timing chain needing maintenance?

Has it happened to any one else.

I'm pretty sure it's normal though, in higher revs something changes and the engine opens up.

Sounds like your accessory belt is loose or worn out.

Quit with the Honda-Tech comments.

I'm leaning a guess towards the water pump on its way out. Can you have someone seat in the car and reving it to make the noise happen while you're in the engine bay?
