Default Stalling while in snow mode

Hey all, recently ran into a bit of trouble and am hoping to get some insight before I bring it in. After about 20-30 minutes of driving, if I am in snow mode, my car will sputter and then stall when I am at a stop. This has only occurred once when not in snow mode when I switched from drive to reverse to drive when parallel parking after driving for about an hour. I've also recently noticed a grinding noise after moving from first to second gear at a very slow acceleration accompanied by a jerk when not in snow mode. The car is an 06' with 280k on it and I recently had the transmission rebuilt. I'm thinking possibly a fuel injector, but I have no clue how the symptoms relate when they become apparent after driving for a while. Thanks for any input.

Sounds like your torque converter is not unlocking. How recent was the trans rebuild? Could be a solinoid in the trans.
