Difference between locking carrier assembly and welded diff?
I am planning on purchasing a locking carrier assembly but I was told that it's no different than a welded differential. Is this true? If it is, are there more cons than just additional tire wear? This car is my DD and I'm still going to be driving this car for another year and a half to two years until I get another one and I don't want anything to break because of the locking carrier assembly. If anyone knows anything about this, please give some advice. Thanks!

A limited slip differential is what you would want for increased traction and street drivability... Check this link for some great info. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-my-is250.html
