Question Proper Area for an Introduction?

Hey, All,
I looked through the forum to find an "Introduce Yourself" area and cannot find one (unless I am totally dense). I am interested in an IS250 or 350 (used) and wanted to introduce myself. So, ok to post a "Hello, here is what I am looking into" kinda thing here?
Thanks,
Dale

Hey, All,
Thanks for the welcome. I am in the Austin area. So, I do have a few question for all you IS guys...

1) Are they really as reliable as I have heard/read? That is really attractve as I am the type that buys a car (always used) and I drive it till the wheels fall off.

2) 350 versus 250? I do like the added power the 350 brings to the table, but various magazine reviews seem to indicate that the 250 is more sport oriented other than the motor.

3) Other cars I am considering:
A - VW GTI
B - Mazdaspeed3
C - Volvo C30
D - Infiniti G37
Thoughts? I will hold my research results for now to minimize any bias I may infer.

What am I looking for in a car (in no particular order)?
a) fun to drive
b) some level of performance - not measured by HP alone
c) RELIABILITY and low cost of ownership

I presently own a 19877 Porsche 944 Turbo that I am going through now. Should have her back on the road by next summer with about 350ish HP/375 ft-lbs torque out of an 8 valve, inline 4 (2.5 or 2.7 litres). When that "I just gotta let one rip" mood hits me, I have a 2000 Honda VFR800 motorcycle (3rd one I have owned and a 5th gen VFR).

Forgive the ramble, this was longer than I intended.

Thanks,
Dale

Congrats! Thats bad a$$. Im a 911 guy with a toyota budget LOL.

Until that day comes ill keep the IS350...these things are quick man, 13.1 sec 1/4 miles stock...all that with the reliability of toyota product and no turbo or SC to cause issues. BTW ive had a few really quick FI cars but for a reliable daily is350 cant be beat IMO. BTW, I have a 4runner with 340k miles on it and i expect at least that outta this car.

Respectfully i dont even consider those other cars you mentioned on the same level except maybe the G37....but in my ownership experience the quality of Nissan products(though good), always falls a bit shourt of Toyota, just my personal experience. Oh yea the IS250 is flat out slow dont even consider it you will be dissapointed IMO.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Is350 all the way. Fastest NA engine sports sedan on the market today. Throw on sway bars and coils and you'll be handling like no tomorrow. Lexus is also ranked #1 in reliability, customer satisfaction and customer service, cannot think of one time that Lexus corp has not helped me, and I'm considered young so a lot of other dealers looked down on me and refused to treat me like a customer unlike Lexus. Which is why I chose lexus over Infiniti.
