Default 2011 vs 2012 LED Headlight Pricing

Hi guys,

Another headlight question from me again . I'm just wondering is the difference in color and appearance between the two revisions of the headlights enough to justify a few hundred dollar premium for the 2012 version (say $1000 for 2011 vs $1300 for 2012 - ignore the bubbling issue too)

I've seen the thread regarding the colour differences but have never seen a set up close, so if experienced people could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it .

It comes down to pure white vs a dull yellow color.

I specifically bought the 2012 headlights because I wanted the pure white color

The strip on the bottom of the housing (the part that bubbles) is darker on the 2012's as well. It's a graphite color on 2011 and black on 2012.

FWIW I've put 9K miles on my 2012's and still no bubbling, the 2011's bubbled after 3k miles.

Yep, I know the bubbling issue stills occur on both so we're going to just assume that it'll happen.

But based on the color alone do you guys think I should pay a few hundred more?

Did you notice the colour difference Crispy?

I have the 2012. I personally don't like the yellowish color on the 11's. At the end of the day its all personal preference. If you don't mind the hint of yellow, then you'll save yourself a couple hundred bucks.

I noticed the color difference of the LEDs immediately. As others have stated, the 2011's are not as bright, and much more yellow. I would spend the extra $$$ on the 2012's just for the brighter, whiter LEDs.

The difference in color on the bottom strip is less noticeable, but it does give the housing a more blacked out look. I don't think the difference would merit a couple hundred more, but again, the LED color difference is.
