Default Navigation Question?

Hello everyone, I'm a new IS350 owner and proud new member of the Lexus Club Forum. I was wondering if you guys can help me out with a small issue I'm having with my navigation system.

I'm having trouble loading in destinations. It seams no matter what I try and how I may spell it, my navigation can't ind my street address. I always get the 'Invalid street address pop up warning'

If you can please point me in the right direction or tell me what I'm doing wrong??

Thanks in advance!

Check your region. I don't know what model year you have, but 06-12 you can change the region ie US1, US2 etc.. or 13+ you can change to the correct state or province. This is done through DESTINATION

Once you know you have the correct State or Region, always start with CITY first as it will pinpoint better than starting with an actual address

Thanks for the reply. I own an 08' IS 350. I believe the region is set correctly because I see the the southeast corner highlighted but I will definitely check it again. Thanks

No problem. Another consideration is your home address relative to how old your map disc is. Being a 2008 model (like mine), the maps are at least 5 years old (unless you've replaced it already). I know I have some locations in my area that will not show because the neighborhoods simply didn't exist 5 years ago - I've just been lazy and cheap to go get a new navi disc

Thanks, but its just about any address put in. It locates destinations using voice commands just fine, its the physically input part that I'm get the 'Invalid street address' all the time. The locations I'm inputting are definitely over 30 years old so no worries there.

I bought the car used from someone and I'm wondering if it had anything to do with me erasing or clearing the previous members data and saved entry's? Because I believe it might have worked fine before

Try starting with your searches by city, THEN put in the street. I know you nav is slightly different than my 2011 but if you can do that it should help.

I had my wife figure out my NAV destiniation issue ('06); not sure what she did, but she read the manual and got it working.

Each year dealers get new discs available for sale usually August - October. Iirc 12.1 is the latest but 13.1 might be the one replacing or already here. Mine is 8.1 I think. $169 is the (outragous) price at my dealer

I've still got the '06 disc in my 350; around here we really don't have any new streets to speak of...so no need really for a new one.

Part of the reason I've lagged as well. But recently I've had to go to a few clients houses and of course the house doesn't exist and I'm looking at a red arrow in the middle of a white screen

Buy a new DVD. Sounds like it's failing. Mine was the same, and then it just stopped finding addresses at all (unless you were looking for a Point of Interest).
